The WOWFest Community Chorus was formed in 2022 to allow the local community and singing enthusiasts from far and wide to directly participate in WOWFest themselves. Each year a large chorus is formed and rehearsed especially to perform a choral-symphonic work alongside orchestra and soloists in Wells Cathedral, as part of the Wells Orchestral Weekend. Previous works have included Mendelssohn’s Hear My Prayer, Mozart’s Laudate Dominum and Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, produced in 2024 to celebrate the 200th anniversary since the first performance of this monumental work.

On Saturday 11th July 2026 the WOWFest Community Chorus and the Bristol Classical Players conducted by Tom Gauterin, performed Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in Wells Cathedral. The Community Chorus was open to all singing enthusiasts who came together for a series of rehearsals prior to the performance.
