Come and Sing CARMINA BURANA!!

On Saturday 11th July 2026 WOWFest will produce Carl Orff’s Carmina Burana in Wells Cathedral, performed by the Bristol Classical Players and the WOWFest Community Chorus and conducted by Tom Gauterin. The Community Chorus is open to ALL SINGING ENTHUSIASTS - no previous experience necessary!

Carmina Burana is an epic work for choir, symphony orchestra and 3 soloists written in 1936 by German composer Carl Orff. It is based on a collection of medieval poetry, mainly in Latin and most commonly known for its powerful opening chorus, O Fortuna. A series of rehearsals will take place prior to the event as follows (subject to modification):
Mon 15th June 7-9pm
Sat 20th June 10am-4pm
Sat 27th June 10am-4pm
Mon 29th June 7-9pm
Mon 6th July 7-9pm
Rehearsals will take place in Wells United Church with conductor Katrine Reimers.
A minimum of four rehearsals must be attended.

Performance date: 11th July 7pm Wells Cathedral (dress rehearsal 1-4pm)

Participation Fee: £35 (payable by 30th April 2026)
Under 18s and those receiving benefits are entitled to a free place
